Hyryder is the Midwest’s preeminent Grateful Dead Tribute Band.  The band formed in Indianapolis, Indiana in the summer of 2008, and was born out of an intense love and appreciation for the music of the Grateful Dead and a desire to help carry on this rich musical tradition.

The band consists of Charlie Morgan (lead guitar and vocals), Nick Neureiter (drums and vocals), Eric Thompson (rhythm guitar and vocals), Blair Ping (bass and vocals) and Kirby Hammel (keyboards vocals).

Hyryder strives to create an authentic Grateful Dead experience, paying close attention to detail.  While paying tribute to the original compositions of every era, Hyryder crafts their own authentic and unique take on the music, with special focus on extended improvisational jamming.  The band prides itself on its ever changing progressive jams and set lists that are unique to each particular show.  Appearing often at the beloved venue The Mousetrap, in Indianapolis,  Hyryder performs across the Midwest and beyond including multiple night runs giving fans an intimately different experience each time they take the stage.   Most recently, the band performed at the 2023 Skull & Roses Festival in Ventura, California where Bill Walton himself was moved by the music of Hyryder.

Blue Sky Dogs, A Celebration of The Allman Brothers Band.

Starting at 6pm Blue Sky Dogs will perform the music of The Allman Brothers Band.

The Blue Sky Dogs came out of a special connection that lead guitarist, Tom Kiefaber has to the
ABB. Tom’s dad, Tom Kiefaber Sr played bass with Dickey Betts in “The Jokers” back in the
60’s before Dickey joined the ABB. Rick Derringer referenced the Jokers in “Rock and Roll,
Hoochie Koo” In 1970, Tom’s first musical memory is backstage at an Allman Brothers show
when he was 4 years old. Tom and his dad Tom Sr hung around the brotherhood for many years
and even joined them onstage a couple of times at Deer Creek.

The second guitar parts (actually the other first guitar parts!) are placed in the capable hands of
Indianapolis’ guitar expert, Sandy Williams. Sandy is a professor of music studies at DePauw
University and has played on hundreds of albums, and too many bands to mention. Sandy’s
interest in blues, jazz, country, and rock make him the perfect fit.

The Hammond organ/piano parts and bass guitar lines are handled by longtime 3to1 Band
members, Bill Mallers and Jon McKinney.
“Blue Sky Dogs” bring the ABB experience full circle with the “two drum” percussion section of
Joe O’ Connell and Nick Mallers. Their rolling rhythms will remind you why Jaimoe & Butch
remain to be the greatest drum pair in rock history.
Join The Allman Brotherhood on July 29th at Stable Studios in Spencer, IN to hear “Blue Sky
Dogs” re- create a live Allman Brothers Band experience.

The Blue Sky Dogs lineup: Tom Kiefaber (lead guitar, vocals), Jon McKinney (bass, vocals),
Sandy Williams (lead guitar), Bill Mallers (keyboards, vocals), Joe O’Connell (drums, percussion) and
Nick Mallers (drums, percussion, vocals).

We start the day with “The Haters” performing music of The Band from 3pm.
